Although summer is here, I couldn’t get myself to put away my jackets and boots just yet. So with a little Urban Outfitter-esque inspiration, I paired a military style jacket (Loft) with a chambray button down (J.Crew) and gray suede booties (Urban outfitters) for a great Saturday morning at Jacksonville’s Riverside Arts Market, our favorite “Market under the bridge”!
We made it! Winter is finally over and spring is in the air (here in Florida at least). The sun is out and it’s time to trade in those those knits and wools for silks and linens. A Saturday morning this beautiful warranted a trip to our favorite local farmers market. What better way is there to get into the Easter spirit? So I donned my spring colors and spent the morning walking through Winter Park, watching children immersed in Easter activities, and stocking up on fresh fruits and veggies. And the morning wouldn’t have been perfect without picking up a “Bagelwich” for breakfast…
You don’t always need color to grab someone’s attention. The perfect combination of neutrals can create a beautiful, elegant, and well — simply sophisticated — look. Just be sure to add varying shades to create depth and you can’t go wrong!

Happy Thanksgiving! I hope everyone is getting to spend the day with those closest to them, with a hot cup of cocoa in hand and the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade playing on their TV. I’m lucky enough to be in VA with my family for the holiday and enjoying this wonderful weather! Florida girl born and raised, I jump at any opportunity to whip out my boots and coats, especially this white Fossil one I got last winter for a trip to NYC (A tip to anyone traveling to the big apple this winter, unless you want to be marked as a tourist, leave the colors at home! I could not have stood out any more in my bright white among the sea of jet black apparel. Seriously New Yorkers, live a little!) I hope everyone continues to have a great day and a wonderful turkey dinner.
This Sunday was the annual Concours d’elegance in Winter Park, FL (one of my favorite stomping grounds) which was the perfect excuse to get a little dolled up and enjoy the good weather. For one day, Winter Park closes 6 blocks of the cobblestone tree-shaded Park Avenue to host “120 of the world’s most prestigious automobiles” *. While I’m not so well versed in the world of supercars, I happen to be dating an expert (and I love to go and enjoy the atmosphere) so we stopped on by for a great, relaxing morning.
Okay so no judgments everyone, I know I live in Florida, but fall is in the air…. okay not really… but it’s on my mind and I’m itching to hang up my shorts and tanks and pull out my sweaters and boots. So for a little fall inspiration (and wishful thinking on my part) here’s one of my favorite fall combinations!
In my opinion, every girl needs at least one good pair of cowgirl boots in her wardrobe. Although I often use my boots for practical purposes around the barn, I still love to dress them up with nicer pieces as well . There’s just something fun about a good pair of boots that gives a little “umph” to an everyday outfit. I love to pair my boots with cute sundresses like this one from J.crew; It makes me feel like a proper southern bell, but one who can kick some butt if need be!
With plans to explore the city, Lauren and I were originally put off when we woke up to dark drizzling skies this morning. But we were determined to make the most of our time here, so we put on our most cheery colors and made our own sunshine. Luckily the rain stopped and we ended up having a beautiful day. I’d like to think it was because of our positive thinking.
I love blazers. They turn even the most simple clothes into chic outfits. Wear them with jeans or shorts to create a casual look, or wear them with a skirt or dress for a fancier vibe. I love this Coral blazer from Banana Republic that adds a pop of color!
Mondays are arguably the most exhausting day of the week, so why not spice yours up with a cute maxi? I guarantee it makes getting through the day a little easier when you feel like a million bucks!
